Jagger’s birthday was celebrated with extreme fanfare on social media today! The rocker has certainly made the rounds among musicians and made his mark on fans in the six decades since the formation of The Rolling Stones. The British Invasion pioneers have been together since 1962. Original drummer Charlie Watts passed away in August 2021.

The “Sway” singer has received many birthday wishes on social media, from bandmates to former Presidential candidates!

Jagger also reportedly has a monumental reason to celebrate: he’s reportedly engaged to his girlfriend of 36 years, Melanie Hamrick.

Ronnie Wood, who has been a member of The Rolling Stones since the mid-seventies, commemorated his longtime bandmate’s birthday on Instagram. Wood posted a carousel of old and new photos.

“Happy birthday to the only 80-year-old ????,” said a Rolling Stones fan account.

Jagger himself ‘liked’ the photo too!

Jagger’s longtime partner in music and bandmate, Keith Richards, borrowed some keys to woo his pal!

Richards, 79, sent Jagger a happy birthday. Richards said, “Hey, Mick. For a long time we will continue to say this to each other,” he said laughing. “Happy birthday, Mick! Happy breaking the fast again! Gimmie call, tell me how,” he concluded.

Wood’s wife, Sally, joined in on the festivities! Captioning her Instagram post of Jagger, she wrote, “Really cool pic! Happy 80th Mick!”

Twitter, which has just been rebranded as X, is also filled with wishes for the “Angie” crooner!

Musician Ron Sexsmith covered The Rolling Stones’ cover of “As Tears Go By,” originally written for Jagger’s girlfriend at the time, Marianne Faithful. Faithful, 76, also released a version of the song.

Speaking of albums, Tuesday is also a big day for The Rolling Stones listeners!

Back in the early days, “40 Licks,” a giant greatest hits album was released. The album was originally released to accompany the band’s massive 40th anniversary stadium tour.

13 years after its original release, the compilation has received multiple updates: “Forty Licks” is now officially available to stream for the first time. According to a press release from last month, the compilation will be released on 180 gram vinyl as a four LP edition. The new release is described as quite “fancy!”

Jagger didn’t let the big day in Stone history go by! The “Under My Thumb” singer has acknowledged all the good luck on social media! He wrote, “Thank you so much for all the comments and your lovely birthday wishes!! ?❤️” in the caption for a picture where he’s wearing a rather fancy suit!
