While there doesn’t seem to be enough discussion in the media and by government officials about the recent toxic Ohio train derailment, social media is taking a different stance and openly discussing everything that happened.
Rosie O’Donnell recently shared her thoughts on social media, opening a discussion with her followers about the scary situation that is happening.
Rosie O’Donnell Speaks Out About Toxic Ohio Train Derailment Debate

“I’ve been reading all the news reports about this horrible train derailment and chemical spill, toxic poisoning in Ohio. And fish die and chickens die and animals get sick and people get sick and then the EPA comes out very unalarmed, everything is fine, don’t worry about a statement,” he said in a TikTok video. “And it’s annoying. I don’t trust the EPA. I don’t trust them. After 9/11, I don’t know how anyone could.”
O’Donnell brought up the fact that the EPA said it was safe to return to downtown New York City near the World Trade Center after 9/11, when in fact it wasn’t safe for anyone’s health. “There is no cleaning. There is dust everywhere. Toxic, horrible, cancer causing. And they lied to the American people,” he continued. “I don’t trust the EPA.”
The former talk show host explained why he doesn’t believe the EPA says it’s safe to be in an area where a train derails, spilling toxic chemicals. “They have poisoned hundreds of thousands of people. Their lives, destroyed.”

He then spoke to the people who said from afar that if they were in this situation of being near a chemical spill, they would leave. “I heard a reporter say if I was there, I would pack my kids and leave. Well, you know what? Not everyone can do that,” he explained. “They have nowhere else to go. People live from month to month, week to week. They don’t have the savings to stay in a hotel for two, three months, a year.”
Water supply is also a major concern for people in the area of the train derailment, as well as other states where water flows, causing this horrific event to ultimately affect people near and far from the actual derailment. “This is a tragedy of epic proportions, and it’s criminal negligence by the chemical company and the railroad,” O’Donnell said. “And nothing was done about it. It’s not in the news enough. It’s not something people talk about. It was kind of pushed to the back burner.”

Rosie O’Donnell Shares Follow-Up Video After Reading Comments Section
After reading the comments on her last video, O’Donnell shared another video in which some people suggested she was “finally waking up.”
“People are like, oh you’re finally waking up. No, I’m not finally waking up. This is what I feel in all national tragedies,” he explained. “This is what I feel; compassion for my fellow man, disappointment in a government that doesn’t care enough towards its people, and frustration with the way corporate entities seem to go unpunished in this country now.”
“Thank you Rosie!!! I, live downstream from there. They say everything is fine, don’t believe them,” one person wrote in his Instagram post. Another follower agreed with his stance, “Same here, the carelessness of our leader makes me sad. Especially in gun violence and with catastrophe.”
