Royal Fans React To Harry & Meghan’s Christmas Card Not Featuring Their Kids

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, finally released their Christmas card, and it’s missing an important detail: The couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The child’s conspicuous absence has also caused some backlash from royal fans who have been waiting for the couple’s festive card following the release of their rival Prince William and Kate Middleton’s card, which features their children and is widely regarded as photoshopped.

Harry and Meghan’s cards were issued hours after the Duke won his legal battle with a UK tabloid and was awarded up to $180,000 in damages.

Harry and Meghan wish everyone a “Happy Holiday Season” on their latest festive card. The royal couple finally dropped their Christmas card which featured a beautiful photo of them clapping their hands with big smiles during the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games, held in September in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The card has elegance as it features a beautiful green background with the words, “On behalf of the offices of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke & Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and the Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very Happy Holiday season. Thank you for everything support in 2023.”

The couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibert, were missing from the Christmas card. This follows the pattern of their 2022 Christmas Card, which does not feature their child. The release of Harry and Meghan’s cards comes days after other royals shared their cards.

Following the release, royal fans were quick to comment on the stunning card, with some praising the couple for not featuring their child while others slammed them for doing nothing.

One Sussex fan wrote: “Harry and Meghan have released their Christmas cards, and I love that their kids aren’t there because the haters are going to lose their minds, and I’m listening to witness it all. Conspiracy theories, endless hate, and ‘why are they hiding it from us?’ whine. Merry Christmas.”

Another noted that Harry was trying to protect his children by not featuring them: “It’s on their Archewell site when you download their impact report. We will probably get their business Christmas cards until the kids turn 18. Harry will give his children everything he wanted as a child – to be surrounded by love and protected.”

A third person praised the photo, saying, “That’s a great picture of them. So delightful & so perfect for Christmas.”

Amid the positive feedback, others felt the pair could have done more with one person writing, “Isn’t that a picture from the Invictus games? Not Christmas at all?! Old picture, no effort! No children!”

Harry and Meghan’s Christmas card comes shortly after William and Kate released their card, which was heavily criticized for some weird Photoshop.

The couple and their three children posed together in a black-and-white photo as they all wore matching white button-down long-sleeved shirts. While the photo looked beautiful from afar, eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out a major photoshop fail on the couple’s youngest child, Prince Louis’ finger.

Fans noticed that the young prince was missing a finger on his right hand, which was placed on the chair occupied by his sister Princess Charlotte. The only fingers visible in the picture are Louis’ index, ring, and pinky fingers. However, it is not clear if he is hiding the finger or if the image is just a mistake caused by Photoshop.

A fan’s tweet at the photo read at the time, “Prince Louis’s toe is missing, also they took a photo of someone else’s foot on it. I certainly hope the taxpayers don’t pay for it.” Another wrote, “Louis lost a finger; this has got to be the worst Photoshop picture ever.”

The Sussexes certainly have something to cheer about as the Duke recently secured a partial victory in his legal confrontation with British tabloid publishers, Mirror Group.

Harry claims in his case that more than 140 incidents of illegal information gathering were carried out against him by the tabloid Mirror Group, which he claims hacked his phone and engaged in illegal actions to obtain personal information for news.

In the seven-week trial, Harry became the first British monarch in 130 years to take the witness stand. He claimed the tabloid illegally obtained information for news published between 1995 and 2011. After reviewing 33 accounts, the trial concluded that 15 of them were the result of phone hacking or other illegal means of obtaining information.

According to reports, Judge Timothy Fancourt, who presided over the case at Britain’s High Court, awarded the royal a “modest” $180,000 [£140,000] in damages slightly more than half of the £320,000 he was asking for.

Happy Holidays to the Duke and Duchess!
