Russell Brand Begs Fans To ‘Back’ An ‘Independent Voice’ By Paying £48 For His Rumble Channel

Struggling comedian Russell Brand has come out to ask for financial support from his fans after his YouTube channel was debited.

The actor asked them to subscribe to his Rumble channel, one of the few platforms that has yet to take him down after several sexual allegations were leveled against him.

Brand previously broke his silence on the sexual allegations, saying that all his past relationships were consensual.

Brand has called on his fans to subscribe to his Rumble channel following his YouTube debit after recent sexual allegations against him were backed up online.

The comedian went on a rant on the platform, saying that his current problems are a result of him being targeted by the government.

Brand told the roughly 70,000 people who streamed, “If you’re watching this on YouTube or anywhere else, eventually you have to click the link in the description and join us at the Rumble, and if you can be a supporter that’s the only way you can support our independent voice at a time when it is clearly challenged.”

Subscribing to the Rumble platform comes at an annual cost of approximately £48 [$58]. It seems that Brand is considering this move to help him regain financial stability, especially since he has suffered significant setbacks, such as the loss of publisher support and the postponement of his stand-up tour.

The police have opened an investigation against him

Fans are divided about the allegations against Russell BrandMEGA

Ahead of Brand’s live streaming event, UK police revealed that they had launched an investigation in response to a number of “non-recent” allegations of sexual misconduct made against the comedian.

“We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been the victim of a sexual offence, no matter how long ago, to contact us,” a representative said.

“We understand it can feel like a difficult step to take and I want to reassure you that we have a team of specialist officers on hand to advise and support.”

Another spokesman said “no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing,” reiterating that victims should contact the police.

The allegations against Brand arose earlier that month as a result of an investigation carried out by Channel 4’s Dispatches and The Sunday Times. Currently, at least four women have publicly accused Brand of sexual assault and rape.

Brand recently opened up about the sexual allegations that have been leveled against him. The actor admitted that in his past, he was “very, very promiscuous.” However, all the sexual interactions he had during that time were “absolutely consensual”.

The “Despicable Me 2” star stated, “I’ve always been transparent about that. Then it was almost too transparent, and I’m being transparent about it now too. To see that transparency metastasize to a crime that I absolutely deny makes me question, is there another agenda at play?”

Brand also noted that the attacks he is currently facing share some similarities with other independent news personalities.

He added, “Especially when we’ve seen coordinated media attacks before, like with Joe Rogan, when he dared to take a drug that the mainstream media didn’t approve of, and we saw a string of headlines from media outlets around the world using the same language .”

The recent allegations against Brand are not surprising, especially given a previous legal incident involving sexual misconduct in 2014, as reported by Sun.

During that period, the comedian faced police questioning following an official complaint from a woman who claimed she had been sexually advanced when she visited his home for a massage appointment.

The woman initially reported feeling significant stress as a result of the alleged incident, which she claimed lasted 40 minutes. She further stated that despite not giving the massage, Brand paid her the agreed fee but forcibly evicted her from her home when she raised objections.

At the time, Brand vehemently denied the allegations. Eventually, the case against him was dropped, and the woman was informed.

Comedian Kathy Griffin also called out Brand recently, calling him a “bag” and saying how happy she was about the accusations against the actor. He also claimed that he sexually assaulted one of his friends at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
