Ryan Geraghty, former “Real House Wives of Orange County” star Elizabeth Lyn Vargas, has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes after he locked himself inside the reality star’s home. Assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, and extortion are the charges according to a press release by the Newport Beach Police Department.
Page Six reported that Ryan appeared in court on February 3, 2022. Prior to that, he was held in custody. The outlet also revealed that Elizabeth called 911 after Ryan locked himself inside his home after allegedly blackmailing her for months.
An insider close to Elizabeth revealed to the outlet, She called the police [Tuesday], so the police started monitoring the house, and he showed up. He ran into the house, held his hostage, had a gun. When [police] realizing he had pulled out a gun, they charged.”
The Newport Police Department confirmed to the outlet in a press release, “Upon arrival at the residence, police officers encountered an armed male suspect who was actively threatening the victim’s life. Officers took immediate action and placed the suspect in custody.” In addition, the police also evacuated the surrounding area in response to the situation at Elizabeth’s house.
Later, they confirmed there was no “further threat to the community.”
After the incident, Elizabeth’s manager shared with Page Six, “She was shocked and had a very traumatic experience.” He continued, “Luckily, the Newport Police Department rescued him and he’s fine.” He was not injured and has yet to deal with the incident.
