Saina Nehwal was born on March 17, 1990 in Hisar, Haryana, India. His family currently resides in Hyderabad, India. He attended school from Campus School, CCS HAU, Hisar; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, Hyderabad; National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) School, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad; and the College of St. Ann for Women, Hyderabad.
At the age of 8, Saina Nehwal started playing badminton and got training in badminton under the guidance of Indian badminton coach SM Arif. He also received training from Pullela Gopichand, Nani Prasad Rao, and Vimal Kumar.
