The “House of Gucci” actress shared a statement to her Instagram Story to share her support for the people of Morocco and then followed it up with a post sharing ways for her fans to donate.

On Saturday afternoon, the “From Dusk To Dawn” actress shared a brief statement to her Instagram Story. “The news about the devastating effects of the earthquake in Morocco broke my heart,” he wrote. “My thoughts are with the unbreakable spirit of the Moroccan people during these difficult times.”
He then followed it up with a way to donate. He set up a care.org link for fans to donate, as survivors are in dire need of shelter, food and personal hygiene items. He also encouraged his followers to sign petitions to encourage Congress to support earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey.

According to the latest figures released by the interior ministry, at least 2,012 people died and 2,059 were injured in the earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday night. Many homes were destroyed by the 6.8-magnitude earthquake, which was the strongest to strike near the High Atlas mountains in more than a century, according to the US Geological Survey.
According to CNN, the Medina and the city walls of Marrakech, popular tourist attractions, were badly damaged by the quake. Morocco’s King Mohammed VI has been briefed on the destruction and has ordered the establishment of a commission to provide assistance, the Royal Palace said in a statement on Saturday.
The king issued an order to “immediately establish an inter-ministerial commission responsible for implementing aid programs, emergency recovery and assistance in the reconstruction of destroyed housing in disaster areas, as soon as possible,” as the outlet stated.

The palace went on to say that the commission would be responsible for “taking care of people in distress, especially orphans and vulnerable people” and providing “immediate care for all people displaced by the earthquake, especially in terms of accommodation, food. , and all other basic needs,” according to the palace.
So far, emergency workers have continued their search and rescue operations, supplying drinking water, and distributing food kits, tents, blankets and other supplies.

World leaders have used social media to stand in solidarity with those in Morocco. “I am deeply saddened by the loss of life and destruction caused by the earthquake in Morocco,” wrote US President Joe Biden on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“The United States stands by Morocco and my friend King Mohammed VI at this difficult time,” he continued. “And, my Administration is ready to provide any assistance needed for the Moroccan people.”
