Novelist Salman Rushdie is a British-American of Indian descent. He published “Grimus,” his first book, although it did not receive many favorable reviews. His second book, “Midnight’s Children,” published in 1981, won the Booker Prize and was named “the best novel of all the winners” on the 25th and 40th anniversaries of the award.
His previous books are Quichotte (2019), The Golden House (2017, reprinted in 2019), The Ground Beneath Her Feet (1999), and The Enchantress of Florence (2008).
