Actor Sam Asghari took to social media to say that “Life is beautiful” amid his public divorce from pop star Britney Spears.
The former couple began dating after meeting on the set of the “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. They got engaged in September 2021, two months before his roughly 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021. The two tied the knot in a full wedding ceremony star in June 2022 at his Thousand Oaks estate in Los Angeles, California.
Unfortunately, the actress filed for divorce after about 14 months of marriage on August 16, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. He listed the separation date as July 28, 2023, according to court documents obtained by The Blast, implying that the split had been going on for some time.

The “Special Ops: Lioness” actress has been mostly quiet on social media since filing for divorce from the pop star. However, he took to his Instagram Stories on Monday, September 11, to pay tribute to 9/11 and posted a photo of firefighters raising an American flag at Ground Zero.
“Never forget,” he wrote under the photo along with a broken heart emoji.

A few hours later, he shared a photo of the sunset. The sky was filled with reds and oranges, making the clouds look almost purple. He appears to be standing on a street corner, as the shadow of a traffic light can be seen in the lower left corner of the frame.
“Life is beautiful,” he wrote above this photo. Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the Iranian actor was prevented from promoting any of his new projects – namely “Special Ops: Lioness” – on social media; however, before that, he said he would take a break from social media after his mother was admitted to the emergency room at the end of July.

The actor moved with his father, Mike, mother, Fatima, and two sisters from Iran to the US when he was just 13 years old. On July 31 – which is before she filed for divorce but just days after what she listed as the separation date – she took to Instagram to tell her followers that her mother had been involved in a “major accident.”
“A huge thank you to the staff @cedarssinai Emergency Medical Staff,” he wrote at the time. “Today my mother was involved in a big accident. He was taken to the emergency room. With the help of an amazing medical staff and some friends he is well and resting.”

“I am very grateful for the love and support given by all of you during Mama Asghari’s recovery after the accident,” he added. “Sending a huge thank you to the wonderful medical staff at Cedars-Sinai ER. Moments like this remind us of the value of life. Take a social media break to prioritize what really matters. See you soon,” he added.
Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, was one of the first to comment, writing, “Like this” along with a red heart emoji. It is unclear whether he knew that the former couple had separated at the time.

On August 17, a day after she filed for divorce, the actress took to her Instagram Stories to break her silence on the divorce and said that she wished Britney “the best always” following the news that they had split.
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and I wish him the best. Sh*t happens. Asking for privacy apparently [ridiculous] so I would just ask everyone including the media to be kind and considerate.”

Over the weekend, the actor took to his Instagram story to joke about creating a disguise to fool the paparazzi. “Help me choose a paparazzi disguise,” she wrote in her Instagram Story alongside three separate options that included her wearing different hairstyles and glasses.
However, he didn’t seem too worried about being recognized on the SAG-AFTRA picket line where he compared himself to actor Leonardo DiCaprio in the midst of the actor’s strike.
