On Monday night, the Iranian actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself posing next to her mother. Her father, Mike, and mother, Fatima, moved the now 29-year-old actress and her two sisters from Iran to the United States when she was just thirteen years old. Over the weekend, he took to his Instagram Stories to reveal that his mother had been involved in a “major accident.”

“A huge thank you to the staff @cedarssinai Emergency Medical Staff,” he wrote at the time. “Today my mother was involved in a big accident. He was taken to the emergency room. With the help of an amazing medical staff and some friends he is well and resting.”

The actor shared a link to a Deadline article on his Instagram Story announcing that the premiere had been canceled. Paramount+ released a statement announcing the decision to cancel the red carpet event, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 18.

“In light of today’s news of the official SAG strike, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the red carpet premiere of Special Ops: Lioness, planned for Tuesday, July 18,” read a statement from the stream. “We realize this is disappointing news and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are thrilled to celebrate this series and can’t wait for it to debut to Paramount+ audiences on July 23.”

As part of the strike, Sam and other actors were not allowed to promote their project on social media. They are also not allowed to make face-to-face appearances or act, sing or do any motion capture work while the strike continues.
