Disgraced FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried has strangely given his ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison a list of the pros and cons of dating her – warning “I don’t feel happy,” according to a new book.
The list of negatives appears to outweigh the positives in a 2018 memo sent to her former lover Ellison, who at the time served as CEO of another Bankman-Fried company, Alameda Research, “The Big Short” author Michael Lewis writes in a new book about the accused fraudster, according to reports.
Bankman-Fried’s trial began this week in Manhattan federal court as the 31-year-old former child crypto expert faces multiple federal charges for allegedly embezzling funds from clients at FTX to cover losses in Alameda.
Before she has to worry about the possibility of spending more than 100 years in prison, Bankman-Fried is considering whether to continue her relationship with Ellison.
The list, published in the book, states how he had trouble respecting others and often liked to be alone, Business Insider reported.

“In many ways I don’t really have a soul,” he wrote point blank, according to memos reportedly obtained by Lewis.
“There’s a pretty good argument that my empathy is fake, my feelings are fake, my facial reactions are fake. I don’t feel happy. What’s the point of dating someone you can’t physically make happy?” he was thinking too.
She is also confused about his intense focus on work and spending time with Ellison.
Other downsides include her unease about the power dynamics in their relationship and the negative publicity if their dating is revealed, the New York Times reports.

For goodness sake, Bankman-Fried boldly listed, “I really like f-king you” twice, Insider reported. He also reportedly said they shared interests and he enjoyed talking to her.
He praised her as a smart, wonderful and kind person, the Times reported.
The memo came after Ellison sent Bankman-Fried a four-page message admitting that his feelings for her were “taking up a ton of my brain space” while expressing concern about how their relationship could affect their jobs, Insider reported.
He also believes he is sending mixed signals.
“Told me he was conflicted about having sex with me, then had sex with me, then ignored me for months,” the book he wrote claims.
But the pros and cons didn’t stop Ellison, and he continued to pursue a relationship with Bankman-Fried, Lewis reportedly wrote.
Ellison pleaded guilty to fraud charges late last year.
