Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a popular Indian actress who mainly works in the Tamil and Telugu film industry. He is also considered to be one of the highest paid South Indian actors who has received several awards, including, six South Indian International Film Awards, four Filmfare South Awards and two Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Awards.
Early Life and Family
Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born on 28 April 1987 in Pallavaram in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His father Joseph Prabhu is Telugu and his mother Ninette Prabhu is from Alappuzha, Kerala. He also has two brothers named Jonathan Prabhu and David Prabhu.
Born and brought up in Pallavaram in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Samantha is fluent in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English. In fact he considers himself a Tamil. He did his schooling from Holy Angels Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School and later completed a degree in commerce at Stella Maris College, Chennai, India.

Career
2010-2012
- At the end of her bachelor’s degree, she dabbled in modeling and started working with Naidu Hall, where she was first spotted by filmmaker Ravi Varman.
- Samantha started her acting career with her first professional film with Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010.
- “Ye Maaya Chesave” bagged him the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actor and the Nandi Award and made him a star.
- Next, Samantha followed her collaboration with Gautham Menon and AR Rahman by making an appearance in the music video for the World Classical Tamil Conference 2010 promotional song, “Semmozhiyaana Tamizh Mozhiyaam”, composed by Rahman and directed by Menon.
- Her next release was the romantic drama, Baana Kaathadi (2010), opposite Adharvaa.
- There Prabhu portrayed a student of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), his first role in the Tamil cinema industry. His next release was Ravi Varman’s Moscowin Kavery in 2010, which was originally his first film.
- Samantha then went on to star in Vamsi Paidipally’s Telugu film Brindavanam where she had a supporting role alongside popular actors Kajal Aggarwal and NTR Jr.

2013-2018
- Later she appeared in the telugu film, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu in 2013 with Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu, which won various positive reviews and was a commercial success.
- Jabardasth’s 2013 film with Siddharth in which she played the role of a wedding planner, was a commercial failure, although many critics noted that she “is improving day by day and is a joy to watch on screen”.
- Later she appeared in the family drama Attarintiki Daredi 2013 which emerged as the highest grossing Telugu film.
- In 2014, her first release saw Samantha play a dual role in the 2014 family drama film Manam, where she appeared alongside several members of the Akkineni film family.
- She appeared in the long-delayed film Autonagar Surya in 2014 with Naga Chaitanya .her other films are Alludu Seenu and Rabhasa.
- Samantha Ruth Prabhu later appeared in her second double role as part of Vijay Milton’s street film, 10 Endrathukulla (2015), where she appeared opposite Vikram.
- Not only that, Samantha’s first release in 2016 was in the Tamil romantic drama film Bangalore Naatkal, where she stepped into a guest appearance.
- In 2018, he successfully ventured into Rangasthalam which went on to become an all-time Telugu Blockbuster hit only behind Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Baahubali: The Beginning.
2019-2022
- A movie called Oh! Baby was released on 5 July 2019 and also Samantha appeared in the female role in the movie U-Turn.

- Chaitanya and Samantha’s fourth collaboration after Ye Maaya Chesave, Manam, and Autonagar Surya and their first collaboration after their marriage.
