Biography/Wiki
Sambit Patra was born on 13 December 1974 (age 48 years; in 2022) in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. He got his education from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro. He pursued his MBBS from VSS Medical College and Hospital and subsequently obtained his Master of Surgery (MS) in General Surgery from SCB Medical College, Cuttack in 2002. After that, he passed the UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination and was appointed in Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi as a Medical Officer. He is the founder of Swaraj, an NGO working for the liberation of Dalits. He was appointed as the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2011 and holds the post till date. Patra emerged as the face of the BJP across the media in Delhi during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 because of his nationwide opinion in favor of the BJP.

Career
Sambit Patra was an excellent student and also a persuasive orator since childhood. During his service as Medical officer at Hindu Rao Hospital, Patra founded an NGO in 2006, Swaraj, which works closely with improving health and education standards for Dalits in Odisha and Chattisgarh regions. In 2011, Patra resigned as a Medical officer from Hindu Rao Hospital and joined the BJP. He contested on a BJP ticket from Kashmere Gate in 2012 but lost. His instant reflex to any fact or situation that supports his opinion in an intelligent way is his gift. For this, he was well recognized by the party and soon in 2011 he was selected as the National Spokesperson for BJP and since then he has represented the views of BJP in various platforms including debates, speeches. He is often seen pointing out the lawlessness and brutality of the Congress party through Twitter. Currently, he serves as the Independent Board of Directors of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited.
