Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is officially returning to the “Jersey Shore” franchise, surprising fans and even other cast members.

The original “Jersey Shore,” which premiered in 2009, starred Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, Angelina Pivarnick, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro , and Sammi ‘Darling’ Giancola. Pivarnick left the show in season 2, where Deena Cortese joined the cast.

After six seasons, the show ended in 2012 but was revived in 2018 and renamed “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.” All of the cast is returning for the new show, apart from Giancola. The model tried to get “the sweetest bastard you’ll ever meet” to return to the show, but Polizzi, aka “Snooki,” said Giancola blocked her on social media.

“I went to text him a little while ago, and he blocked me,” Polizzi told E! News in September 2022. “I don’t know what I’m doing. It’s unfortunate because we want him back. He’s part of the plan. It feels incomplete unless we are all there. Sad.”

Polizzi added, “We tried to get him back two years ago, we all texted him saying, ‘Come for dinner sometime. Why not?’ he always said, ‘No, I’m not doing that show again.’ We don’t want to turn it down.”

Giancola addressed the situation, explaining she didn’t want to return to the “Jersey Shore” house to “avoid a potentially toxic situation,” seemingly hinting at her “toxic” relationship with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. “I’m not the same as I was when I was 22,” she wrote on Instagram. “At 31, I’m excited about every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially toxic situations.”

However, Sammi’s ‘Beloved’ changed her mind when she officially returned to “Jersey Shore,” surprising fans of the show and her castmates.
