Movie
Sana Khan started her career as a model and started working in print and TV commercials. He appeared in more than 50 ad films with celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, etc. He made his debut with the low-budget Hindi adult film Yehi Hai High Masyarakat (2005).
He made a special appearance in a song from the movie “E” (2006). After that, he appeared in the films Bombay to Goa (2007) and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (2007). He was signed for the film “Kettavan” (2008) but was dropped from it. After seeing her in an advertisement with Shah Rukh Khan, Silambarasan (lead actor in the film Sillambattam) approached her for the lead role of ‘Jaanu’ in the Tamil film “Sillambattam” (2008). This film marked his debut in the Tamil film industry.
He appeared in many Tamil films including Thambikku Indha Ooru (2010), Payanam (2011), Thalaivan (2013), and Ayogya (2019). - In 2007, she appeared in an advertisement for Amul Macho, where, she was seen scrubbing men’s underwear very provocatively. It caused great controversy and was banned by the Government of India on the grounds of sexual obscenity. Speaking about it, in an interview, the actress said,
Forget about bans and people taking out morchas (protests) against me and burning my posters in Bombay (Mumbai). At the end of the day, people from creative fields love it.
- In 2013, he was declared ‘on the run,’ after he was indicted for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old girl, who allegedly rejected her cousin’s marriage proposal.
- In 2014, Sana, her boyfriend Ismail Khan, and their butler were arrested after a media consultant accused them of molestation and criminal threats.
- In 2016, an FIR was filed against Sana and other actors who acted in the TV program Jashn-e-Ummeed, by followers of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, alleging that they hurt the religious sentiments of the community on the show.
