Arrested For Attacking Prithvi Shaw’s Car
On 16 February 2023, Sapna was arrested for attacking Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw’s car. On February 15, 2023, Sapna, along with her friends, was at a hotel in Santacruz, Mumbai where Prithvi Shaw was also present with her friends. Reportedly, Sapna and her friends asked Prithvi for a selfie but he refused their request, which then turned into an argument. According to the local police, Sapna and her friend Shobhit Thakur then hit Shaw’s car with a baseball bat and threatened them to pay Rs 50,000 to settle the matter or he would file a complaint against Sapna. However, when Sapna’s lawyer was asked about the incident, he said,
Sapan is a fan of Shaw and just wants a selfie with him but the cricketer gets drunk and misbehaves with him. He also attacked Sapna with a wooden club for abusing his power and position.”
Shaw and her friends then filed a complaint, against Sapna and her friends at Oshiwara Police Station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting), 384 (extortion), and 506 (criminal threats) .
