Sarah Jessica Parker is having a hard time following the unexpected death of her stepfather.

“Sex and the City” and “And Just Like That…” co-star, Cynthia Nixon, revealed to Page Six how his friends coped after the departure of Paul Giffin Forste.

“I think it’s very, very difficult, you know?” Nixon told the outlet. “It was not only difficult to lose him, but certainly for his mother [Barbra Forste].”

Explosion reported the SJP family tragedy at the end of last month.

On Wednesday, September 28, SJP abruptly left the New York Ballet’s 10th Anniversary Fall Fashion Gala.

At the time he got out, the only thing known was that he was dealing with a “family emergency.”

The family crisis was the death of his stepfather. Forste has been married to SJP’s mother, Barbara, for 54 years.

Paul will be remembered for the loving spirit that was his faith, his special joy for his 13 grandchildren, and his abiding belief in making the world a more charitable, tolerant, and beautiful place for all.”

SJP is part of the Board of Directors for NYC Ballet, and according to Page Sixshe worked behind the scenes in creating the Fall Fashion Gala.

On Tuesday, the “Sex and the City” star attended the premiere of “Hocus Pocus 2” with her husband, Matthew Broderick, and their twins, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.

On September 30, SJP shared a black-and-white photo of his late stepfather.

He wrote alongside the photo, “Paul Giffin Forste. 1946-2022. God willing. TORN. Strong as a bull. Til the end. At home and among all those who love you so much, you will be missed always. We will take care of Mommy, whom you have worshiped for 54 years. X, SJ.”

“I’m so sorry. He was a beautiful and kind man who loved his beautiful family. Sending love to you all,” wrote a supportive friend.

Since his stepfather’s passing, SJP has posted several times on Instagram.
