- According to Saumya, her father wanted her to become a doctor. In a conversation with a media house, Saumya revealed that her mother supported her decision to venture into dance. In October 2021, on the audition set of Best Dancer India Season 2, Saumya’s father bet Rs. 500 with his wife that their daughter will not be selected for the reality show, but he loses the bet. Further, for the next round of selection, one of the judges of the reality show, ‘Terence Lewis,’ bet with Saumya’s father that she will be selected in the next round of the competition otherwise Terence will pay Rs. 5000 for the deal which Saumya says that she will definitely fulfill her father’s dream in future. He said,
I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion for dance on such a respected platform. But I also want to study further and become a doctor, thus fulfilling my father’s dream. I strongly believe that nothing is impossible and if we set our mind to achieve something, nothing can stop us. The sky is the limit! But for now, I will put all my dedication and focus on becoming the best dancer India has ever seen.”
