Saurav Kishan is an Indian singer, and he is popularly known as “Chhota Rafi.” He came into limelight with his rendition of the Bollywood song “Teri Aankhon Ke Siva Duniya Mein Rakha Kya Hai” from the Hindi film ‘Chirag’ (1969) originally sung by legendary Indian singer Mohammed Rafi.

Saurav Kishan was born in 1997 (age 24; in 2021) in Kozhikode, Kerala. He attended school at Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Chevayur in Kerala. He attended Xinjiang Medical University in China to study medicine.

His father’s name is Sunil P Nedunghat, and he has a younger brother, Vaibhav Kishan, who is 19 years old and is a medical student. His grandfather was a homeopathic doctor.
Career
He started learning music at the age of 3. His grandfather used to play the songs of legendary Indian singer Mohammed Rafi on his gramophone, and Saurav was drawn to music through these songs.
When he was three and a half years old, he gave his first concert on Doordarshan. When he competed in the TV singing reality show ‘Gandharva Sangeetam’ in 2008, late music director India Johnson, after hearing his song, realized that Saurav’s voice was quite similar to legendary Indian singer Mohammed Rafi and nicknamed Saurav as “Chhota Rafi.” In an interview, Saurav said,
Music is my passion; I remember singing on a music reality show when I was 10 years old, where the late Johnson Master (a music composer who worked in Malayalam cinema) said my singing sounded like listening to Chhota Rafi’s sa’ab! I happened to sing that song at Gandharva Sangeetam and after hearing me, Johnson Sir asked me to focus only on Mohammad Rafi songs and called me Chhota Rafi.”
He is a versatile singer and can sing various songs like fast numbers, patriotic songs, romantic numbers, qawwali, bhajans and classical songs. He has been performing at Mohammed Rafi Foundation events at the Tagore Hall on the Kozhikode beach since he studied in 12th standard. During the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, he returned from China to India. While at home, she uploaded a video on her social media account in which she sang the Hindi song “Teri Aankhon Ke Siva Duniya Mein Rakha Kya Hai” from the Hindi film ‘Chirag’ (1969).
His renditions of Mohammed Rafi songs were admired by various Indian celebrities such as Anand Mahindra, Shankar Mahadevan, and Niti Aayog CEO and former Kozhikode Collector Amitabh Kant.

- He is trained in various forms of music including Carnatic and Hindustani. He was trained in the Carnatic form of music under his teacher Pratapan, and he did his training in Hindustani music under his teacher Bijai Sursain.
