Career
Scot was an outfielder with the Dunedin Blue Jays in 1994 when he got his first call for a scouting position from the then general manager of the Green Bay Packers. He took the job and served as a regional scout from 1994 to 1999. Scot went on to serve as the director of college scouting for the Seattle Seahawks from 2000 to 2004, before joining the San Francisco 49ers as vice president of player personnel in 2005.
Scot’s contract with the 49ers was terminated in 2010 following a pending divorce and his drinking, both of which he disclosed. The Seattle Seahawks then recruited Scot as an assistant drafter. He held this position until April 2014, when he resigned for personal reasons. Scot was later recruited by the general manager of the Washington Redskins, but he was fired again due to a serious hangover.
