Scott Alexander, of America’s Got Talent fame, died on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the age of 52. Jenny Alexander, Scott’s assistant at America’s Got Talent, delivered the heartbreaking news of the magician’s death. She posted two family images and a photo of Scott on Instagram on Monday, February 6, informing her followers that Scott had “suffered a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St Kitts.”
Jenny Alexander said in her Instagram post description:
“My partner died yesterday. My children have lost their father. He died of a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St Kitts and never came back to us. We are destroyed.”
Scott Alexander performed on America’s Got Talent as a magician and made it all the way to the Quarter Finals.
Scott Alexander, season 6 contestant on America’s Got Talent, has died after suffering a stroke.
As mentioned earlier, the magician, who died of a stroke, was a participant in the sixth season of the popular American talent show. Scott auditioned for a magic show involving the “levitation” technique on the first episode of America’s Got Talent season 6 (2011). He seemed to make a woman appear out of nowhere, supported by water, and then float away. Scott Alexander’s performance was unanimously accepted by the judging panel, which included Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel, and he qualified for the Vegas Round. Scott was one of three magicians who performed on stage in the debut episode of Vegas Road (the 11th episode of the sixth season), with “Fantastic Fig and Cat” and Michael Turco.
However, Scott was the only one of the “Judges’ Favorites” to advance to the next round. Scott Alexander performed an illusion show at Vegas Roud where a woman disappeared and reappeared after traveling from one side of the circle to the other. He advanced to the Quarter Finals of Season 6 after receiving unanimous approval from all the judges.
Scott Alexander had an appearance in the fourth week of the Quarter Finals of America’s Got Talent Season 6. Scott performed another magic show, making a gospel choir disappear and reappear from afar. Despite a standing ovation from the seated audience, Scott was regretfully eliminated from the competition after his performance did not receive enough votes.
Scott was featured on Penn & Teller: Fool Us season 2 with another America’s Got Talent (season 7) graduate, The Magic of Puck, after being eliminated from AGT. After Scott Alexander died, Jonathan Goodwin, former escapologist, and daredevil took to Twitter to express his feelings. Here’s what Goodwin said on Twitter:
A brilliant and creative magician left us today. Scott Alexander is amazing, and he presents us with a great show and great material that will carry his name forward. A real loss. Scott is one of the best. #RIPScottAlexander
