A Seattle high school student was marked incorrectly on a history quiz when she stated that only women can get pregnant, according to a report.
A 10th-grader at Chief Sealth International High School reportedly failed a true-wrong quiz titled “Understanding Gender vs. Sex” in his Ethnic Studies World History class, his mother told conservative radio show The Jason Rantz Show Sunday.
The student labeled two statements “true” — The first that “All men have penises” and the second that “Only women can get pregnant.” He was marked incorrect for both and failed a “knowledge review” quiz as a result, said his mother, who asked to remain anonymous so her son would not be punished.
“I keep trying to figure out how it is legal to teach inaccurate information and force students to answer contrary to their beliefs or receive negative marks,” he told the KTTH radio show.
Another question on the quiz — which was administered about two weeks ago — asked students about the use of pronouns and gender as constructs, according to the talk show.

The mother, who said she felt “disappointment and anger” over the quiz, also said her son, who is white, was often berated by teachers at the school who reportedly accused him of being racist and “the product of a patriarchy that teaches boys to care nothing, ” according to Rantz’s plan.
Seattle Public Schools said the quiz is meant to encourage inclusion and aligns with lessons taught in Ethnic Studies classes. The course description states that students will “investigate… global economies, societies and cultures.”

“[Seattle Public Schools] remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment that encourages the exploration of contemporary issues, particularly the examination of power systems such as racism and patriarchy,” a district spokesperson told The Post in a statement. “This dedication extends to providing space for thoughtful exploration and dialogue on these issues.”
The district also states that a failing quiz grade will not affect a student’s overall grade in the class.
The student’s mother said her son expressed his own beliefs with his quiz answers.
He told Rantz’s show he was “proud of him because he refused to answer contrary to his beliefs (which were medically and scientifically accurate, or at least used to be).”
