The ‘Only Murders’ cast recently sat down together Rolling stone and opened up about the mental health crisis he experienced and its effects.
SelGo was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018 and revealed it during an April 2020 episode of Miley Cyrus’ “Bright Minded” IG Live show.
Selena Talks About Losing Herself In 2018

Before revealing her bipolar disorder, the singer had been open about her battle with anxiety and depression.
In his cover story interview with RShe revealed he had to relearn “certain words” while undergoing drug “detox” after a 2018 psychotic episode and being diagnosed as bipolar.
“It’s just that I’m gone,” he admitted. “No part of me is there anymore.”
The 30-year-old explained he was “guided” back to himself by a psychiatrist.

“I had to detox, basically, from the drugs I was taking,” the singer says candidly. “I had to learn how to remember certain words. I will forget where I am while we are talking. It took me a lot of work to (a) accept that I’m bipolar, but (b) learn how to deal with it because it’s not going away.”
During this trying time, SelGo ended up in a treatment center in Connecticut because he heard voices and became paranoid.
According to a 2018 report by Page SixSelena was admitted to a wellness program “designed for individuals who need a retreat from a high-profile, ‘always’ lifestyle.”
He admitted that he only “remembered snippets” this time.

Things got so low that Selena said she was “unrecognizable” to her friends and spent “several months” in treatment before “retiring from psychosis.”
Since returning to her old self, Selena has taken all but two medications.
Before staying at his treatment center in 2018, SelGo visited several other facilities to help with his mental health issues.
Selena Has Been To Several Treatment Facilities Over The Years
In 2014, she began seeking treatment at Arizona’s Dawn at Meadows facility. Two years later he checked into a Tennessee facility for treatment of depression and anxiety.
In 2017, Selena told Vogue, “My self-esteem was shot. I’m depressed, anxious. I start having panic attacks right before going on stage, or right after… Basically I feel like I’m not good enough, not good enough.”

She continued, “I wish more people would talk about therapy. We girls, we’re taught to be almost too tough, to be strong and sexy and cool and laid back, down girls. We also need to feel allowed to mess up.”
SelGo has come a long way since then and openly discusses her mental health and daily struggles.
She founded the Rare Impact Fund which is part of her Rare Beauty brand.
