Although she admitted that she recently gained weight, Gomez said it was because she had fun during the holidays.

Through an Instagram video, Gomez responded to body-shaming attacks that teased her following her appearance at the 2023 Golden Globes, per Mirror.
One troll has denied the actress that her “body will look like your mom” if she continues to allow her weight to fluctuate, while another wrote, “Selena, time to get in shape.”
He also faced similar heat on Twitter as one user claimed he looked “pretty stupid.”
In response to negative comments, the singer admitted that she had gained weight recently, but it was because she was enjoying herself.
“‘I’m a little big now because I had fun during the holidays,'” Gomez told her fans, seemingly oblivious to the chatter about her physical appearance.
After making the statement, Gomez and her 9-year-old sister, who was also in the live video, laughed after she said, “But we don’t care.”

She accessorized with silver earrings and wore a pair of black lace-up shoes. Her face was also beautifully decorated while she styled her hair stylishly.
Gomez attended the event with her sister. He ended up losing Best Television Actor for his role in “Only Murders In The Building” to “Abbott Elementary” star Quinta Brunson.

Gomez’s recent encounter with body shamers is one of many that the actress has faced over the years. But just like his recent admission that he doesn’t care what they think, he has shared similar sentiments in the past.
In April 2022, she used TikTok to slam trolls who continued to make inappropriate comments about her weight.
“So I’m trying to stay skinny, but I go to Jack in the Box, and I get four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings and a spicy chicken sandwich,” Gomez said at the time, per Ella.
She added, “But honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people criticize it: ‘You’re too small.’ ‘You’re too big.’ ‘That’s not appropriate.’ ‘Meh meh meh meh.’ Bitch, I’m perfect in my own way. Moral of the story? Goodbye.”

Gomez has had a very complicated relationship with social media over the years and even stopped being involved with Instagram for a while.
The actor, who is one of the most followed celebrities on the app, revealed in 2021 that he ended his relationship with the social media platform because he felt it was “too much information.”
“I feel like my thoughts and everything I eat revolve around a million other people in the world saying good and bad things,” he says, every CNN. “And I just thought, ‘Why am I—I’m not getting anything out of it. Nothing is giving me life.’ And I just snapped, and I got over it.”
The star is now back on the app, uploading several selfies and other photos with friends ahead of her latest live video, in which she criticizes body shaming.
