‘Selling Sunset’ Bre Tiesi On Motherhood: ‘Everyone Lies To You’

It’s a common saying that motherhood brings unimaginable joy, but for Bre Tiesi, it comes with many surprises!

The “Selling Sunset” star hopped on the podcast to spill all the deets on her postpartum journey following the arrival of her bundle of joy. Tiesi welcomed a baby boy with Nick Cannon in a natural, unmedicated home birth last year – their first child together and her eighth child.

Bre Tiesi Talks About Her Mental State After Baby Legendary Arrives

The 32-year-old revealed that her postpartum journey was quite intense, and that she had little control over her mental state, her emotions, or anything. His situation came with a lot of confusion and a lot of questions when he said:

“You can’t help yourself, and I think that’s what makes it so scary. Because you’re like, What’s wrong with me? Like, nothing is wrong. Like, I have this beautiful baby. And why am I crying? And I didn’t cry. Like, what’s wrong with me?’ Like, you can’t put it together.”

Tiesi also stated on Tuesday’s episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast that she believes society does not prepare women for the realities surrounding childbirth. In her words, motherhood is shrouded in lies, and people “don’t really tell you how hard it is and everything that comes with it and all that.”

The real estate agent confessed that he thought he would “recover immediately, mentally, physically, in every way.” Between promoting Legendary Love and filming the sixth season of “Selling Sunset”, however, the pressure became worse when he said:

Tiesi debuted in the Netflix series as a cast member right after welcoming Legendary in June 2022. But she didn’t give in under the pressure because she was comforted by the support of Cannon, whom she described as a good man who stepped up for their son.

The 32-year-old also credits her healthy lifestyle and remaining independent before becoming a mother as factors that kept her stable through her emotional postpartum journey.

As for when he and Cannon met, the star recalled it was through a mutual friend about a decade ago. Tiesi and Cannon were then officially introduced on “Wild ‘N Out,” and they began an on-and-off relationship ever since.

A few months after the birth of her son, she opened up on her Instagram story about balancing being a mother and her personal life. The fitness enthusiast tackles the physical changes to her body before and after pregnancy with throwback photos and current photos that show her belly scars.

According to him, he chose the body sculpting procedure to speed up the snap-back journey and show improvement. Tiesi also revealed that Cannon was present at his home birth and also cut Legendary’s umbilical cord.

However, the star longs for more physical contact with her baby, but her work schedule does not allow her to spend much time in bed with her beautiful son.

In September, Tiesi apparently changed his mind about the child support arrangement between himself and Cannon. In a friendly and comedic exchange, Tiesi appeared in a comedy skit with the “Masquerade Singers” star, which featured the two in a living room as Tiesi said, “Nick, it’s time to pay child support.”

The surprised cannon quickly replied, “Como say what?” as Tiesi doubled down on her initial request, “You have to pay child support.” Cannon then responded in an Amish costume by saying, “No, I’m not, I’m Amish.”

The back and forth continued between them, causing Cannon to playfully inject himself in his forearm and let out a loud voice as he said, “No, I’m not. I got the vaccine.”

Cannon explains to Tiesi that he has over ten children and he doesn’t have to pay, but Tiesi quickly corrects him that the clause only applies to foreign countries like China.

Guess that was Cannon’s clue because the next scene shows Tiesi’s phone ringing with Cannon’s name on display, and when picked up, the social media personality sees the “All That” star in China.

According to The Blast, Tiesi initially stated that the “Lip Sync Battle” host did not have to pay child support because he had more than ten children on the seventh episode of “Selling Sunset” to star alongside Amnza Smith. However, his lawyer, Neama Rahmani, denied the statement saying:

“Nick, or any father, is responsible for paying child support under California law regardless of how many children he has.”
