In an interview with Page SixBlair shared that her departure from the 31st season of the dance reality show was emotional.

“This was a very emotional night for me,” Blair, 50, told the publication. “Because it was filled with so much love for me, and my love for everyone here really, really, really came back.”

On Monday night Blair graciously withdrew from “Dancing With the Stars” due to health issues. She resigned from the competition after her final dance with her pro partner Farber.

During the show, the couple performed a waltz to Andra Day’s “What The World Needs Now Is Love.” The performance was choreographed in Blair’s honor to symbolize 2018—the year she received a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) after years of suffering from the disease.

Blair’s diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018 after years of illness was highlighted in the choreography of the routine. The disease’s ability to damage the nervous system brings symptoms such as memory and speech problems, pain, fatigue, and difficulty walking.

Describing more about her performance, the “Cruel Intentions” star said she exceeded her expectations for the dance reality competition.

“I learned that I can do things that I didn’t think I wanted to do anymore,” he said, per Page Six. “I learned that with enthusiasm and [hope] that you can feel as beautiful as the people you watch. That it can inspire.”

The actor added, “For me, there’s never been, like, despair compared to when you’re with people like this, with these celebrities and professionals. I’m so proud of this show and this production for welcoming both of us [like Daniel Durant, who is deaf] where it’s just a little extra challenge. But look at how we proved ourselves in a different way.”

Selma Blair Says Her Body Was Beaten

Blair shared in a pre-taped interview package that aired before her performance on Monday night that she had to withdraw from the celebrity dance competition due to some serious complications arising from her health.

“I had an MRI, and the results came back, and it all adds up, I can’t continue the competition. I’ve pushed as far as I can,” Blair was seen telling her dance partner. “With a chronic illness, you have special considerations, and my body has been affected. It’s too much for the safety of my bones. I could have done great damage which I, of course, did not want.”

Blair’s final performance was certainly one to remember as she thrilled the audience and the judges with her dance moves, gliding seamlessly across the stage with her dance partner. Although his previously announced departure made his score technically insignificant, it didn’t seem that way when all the judges gave him 10s on their scorecards.

In addition, his performance also received critical acclaim from fans and judges. “This competition is difficult for everyone. But if everyone else has climbed a hill, you’ve climbed a mountain,” head judge Len Goodman told Blair after the show, per Yahoo.

On Monday night, no one was knocked out by Blair’s departure. The next episode of the dance competition is scheduled for Tuesday with the theme “Prom Night” on Disney+.
