“Lauerlei sadly breathed her last yesterday,” Serena began her tribute, adding, “I’m sad but happy for all the time and all the extra time I got to spend with her.” She noted that the pet lived a very long life, with the last year and some being a “bonus” because Lauerlei got everything she wanted, including biting her toes until the end. The Tennis Star went on to list the late dog’s favourites; chickens and acrobatics, adding:
“He was the cutest little kid ever, and I’m going to miss him…so much. [heartbreak emoji] truly the end of an Era.”

Her heartfelt message was then rounded off by acknowledging the dog’s full name, Lauerlei Linkogle Williams, and her years of existence, May 2004 – August 27, 2022. In addition to the tribute, Serena uploaded nine photos of Lauerlei in different scenes, reveling in happy moments over the years, with some images showing him with some other dogs.
Most of the photos also show the deceased, a white-haired cutie, curled up on a cushioned surface, while some show her wearing a blue and red scarf. As expected, fans expressed their sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family. As reported by The Blast, he is not a fan of the term ‘retirement’, but the decision may be necessary because he has to think about his daughter, Olympia Ohanian, and family.
