The Tennis icon stole the world’s hearts with the announcement of her and Alexis Ohanian’s second pregnancy at the 2023 Met Gala, where she debuted her baby bump in a body-hugging black Gucci gown. A few months after the event, the couple welcomed their new addition to their first child, five-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
Serena Williams’ Second Baby Has a Disney-Themed Name
After the birth of the newborn, Williams’ husband revealed the name and due date in an Instagram post alongside a family portrait of the four children. Ohanian’s heartfelt caption reads:
“Welcome, Adira River Ohanian. I am grateful to report our home is united with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and a happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams now you have given me another incomparable gift — you are GMOAT. Thank you to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter ? Similarly, Williams posted the same photo of her family accompanied by the caption of the baby’s name. The proud mom and Olympia wore a pink dress inside, while the Reddit co-founder wore a black polo shirt. A baby held by its mother wrapped in a blanket.
As expected, familiar faces such as Nene Leakes, Porsha Williams Guobadia, Viola Davis, Naomi Campbell, Ciara and Kim Fields rushed to the comments section to congratulate the star and her family.

Although the Wimbledon star didn’t mention any baby names at the time, she did list her favorite characters as Maleficent, Scar, Gaston, Lady Gothel, and Ursula. In Williams’s words:
“Good morning. I was thinking… I don’t know the gender; I don’t know if we’re having a girl or a boy. So, I was thinking of some names, and I was like, maybe I should do something with my favorite Disney character because I like Disney, and as you know, I’m like their biggest fan.”
Adira’s chosen name is a character in “Tangled: The Series” — a fierce and mysterious warrior who acts as Rapunzel’s guide to the source of the ominous black stone that has plagued several parts of the world.

Before growing their family, the power couple embarked on a fun and quiet “babymoon” vacation. And judging from the posts of the world-famous athlete, the couple looks happy and relaxed.
