While appearing at Disrupt with Serena Ventures partner Alison Rapaport, he discussed, among other topics, the next chapter of his career, jokingly revealing that he is most likely to return to the court.

TechCrunch deputy editor Jordan Crook referred to William’s September Vogue essay, in which he mentioned he had “grown away from tennis.” He said, “There’s a reason you use the word evolution and not retirement. I don’t like the word retirement either; you never use it.”
Williams insisted that she was not retiring, leading the deputy editor to declare that she never wanted the tennis icon to retire from anything. Crook later said, “But it looks like you’re on the fence at the US Open. I know you haven’t thought about it much in the last four weeks because you’ve been so busy, but what are the chances we’ll see you play again?”
He jokingly added that he would cry asking before the legendary tennis player said, “The chances are very high. You come to my house; I got court.” This prompted the woman to laugh and the audience to applaud. Crook then points out that there were a thousand witnesses who hinted that he would hold Serena to her promise.
The woman laughed again before the TechCrunch staffer said, “I saw a tweet that was like how many male amateurs think they can beat Serena Williams in a game of tennis, and it was like 84%.” Williams said, “Wow,” in surprise, after which Crook wondered aloud if he could say something to “those people.”
The sportsman chuckled and asked for an explanation of the amateur category in question. Even so, he’s ready to take them all down at any moment, with Crook welcome to watch.
Williams joking about his chances of getting back in the ring is sure to please fans, especially since he once hinted at the possibility of “unretirement” during a chat with Jimmy Fallon.
While expressing his relief on “The Tonight Show” after announcing his time off from tennis, The Blast noted that he spoke about the possibility that he might change his mind. Fallon wondered, “There’s no way you’re going to pull a Tom Brady and say, ‘Maybe I’m growing to come back.'”
The 41-year-old said with a laugh that NFL star Brady started an “amazing trend” before explaining more about his future in the sports industry. He believes retirement is “something very earned”, which people work hard for. However, he felt that was the case for him.
Williams said, “I just feel like I’m at an age where I definitely have a lot more to give; I have a lot more to do.” She added, “So I’m not going to rest, there’s a lot more to me, and I think it’s more like Serena’s evolution.”
The icon further confessed that there are many things he wanted to do over the years, and given his evolution, he can now “try to enjoy those things,” one of which could be providing siblings for his daughter.

There seemed to be more explanation behind Williams’ retirement when he opened up about the real reasons behind his decision in interviews with Bradley Cooper for the A+E Network and History Talk for the History Channel.
The Blast reported that he said he “just needs to stop” before noting that he has always mentioned his plans to step down when playing well and winning greats.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion added that it was mainly about what she wanted to do spiritually and spend time with her family: her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and her daughter Olympia.
She went on to talk about her challenges and how seriously she takes her parenting duties. Apparently, she missed a lot of matches after giving birth to her daughter, because it was difficult to be in the ring. Still, he’s open to returning to the court even if he feels it’s time to do something different and work on something else.
