Serene Brooke Russell first appeared in the “Bachelor” franchise during Clayton Echard’s season. The 27-year-old teacher finished the competition in fourth place, sent home shortly after her hometown. She later went on “Bachelor In Paradise” where she found love with Brandon Jones.
The two eventually got engaged and fans rallied around the couple, thinking they would end up together. “The fact that we spend so much time together every day — I mean, it’s a lot — we have a lot of time to have those conversations,” Russell told PEOPLE after the season premiere aired. “I feel comfortable about the engagement, and it’s something I never expected in my life. I’m more excited than nervous.”
And just a few months ago, Russell spoke to PEOPLE about the details of the wedding, claiming, “We’ve landed in 2024, and we’re starting to think about what year we want to get married, what kind of wedding we like, do we want it more during the day or at night ?We’re starting to have these fun little conversations. But right now, we’re really excited to be on vacation together, and to be out in public and be normal.”

They concluded with, “We are deeply hurt and can only ask that there be no hate. The best course for us at this time is to try and move forward and heal from this as individuals.”
