Shakira has a lot going on in her personal life at the moment. She split from her partner of almost 12 years over the summer and a fierce custody battle ensued. It was settled and he was moving his two young sons to Miami, FL. in early 2023.

According to “El programa de Ana Rosa,” Shakira changed her mind about the performance a few days before the start of the World Cup.

Coincidentally, Shakira’s ex, Piqué, recently announced his retirement from FC Barcelona and will NOT be playing at the World Cup.
Earlier this month, the Barcelona defender played his last game for Barca on November 5.
He made the announcement on social media on November 3.
Piqué wrote, “It’s time to end this stage of my life. Football has given me everything. Barcelona has given me everything. you, cure (Barcelona fans), have given me everything.”
