Controversy
On 3 August 2021, Shalini Talwar accused her husband, Honey Singh, and his family of domestic violence, alcoholism, drug abuse and adultery. A plea was filed against her in Tis Hazari court in Delhi, under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act to seek protection and other relief. Furthermore, she claimed that once her father-in-law, Sarabjit Singh, came into her room in a drunken state while she was changing and grabbed his hand on her chest. The rapper posted a long statement on his social media account stating,
I am deeply saddened and distressed by the false and malicious allegations leveled against me and my family by my companion/wife of 20 years, Mrs. Shalini Talwar. The accusations are disgusting…”
He completely rejected all the allegations and refused to comment further on the issue as the matter was sub-judice before the Court of Law and claimed that he believed in the judicial system of this country.
