Actress Shannen Doherty gave fans the latest on her battle with cancer.
Earlier this year, his CT scan showed brain metastases, which can form one or more tumors in the brain. Although metastatic brain cancer is usually terminal, the 52-year-old actor began radiation treatment.
On Tuesday night, she took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking look at what cancer looks like with her 1.9 million Instagram followers.

An Instagram video Doherty shared on Tuesday night showed her becoming emotional as she began treatment. Her followers could literally see tears in her eyes as she shared her candid insight into what life is like for individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer.
In the caption, he wrote, “January 12, 2023. On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterday’s video showed the process of putting the mask you wear during radiation on your brain. January 12th, the first round of radiation happens.”
“My fear is clear. I am very busy and have a lot going on in my life. I am lucky because I have a great doctor like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and a great technologist at cedar sinai.” he added. “But that fear…. Turmoil….. time everything…. This is what cancer looks like.”

Many fans commented on the video to show their support and praised her for her bravery in sharing candid views about her struggles. “Thanks for sharing, you are a powerhouse! Must be very scary! Hope you can feel the strength and love the fans are sending you,” commented one fan.
“We love you so much Shannen. We are with you. Endless support for you, as you continue to share your journey. I wish I could personally take away the fear, and whatever pain you may be experiencing at times. Much love to you,” wrote another follower.
“You are a strong and courageous woman. Heartbroken your husband betrayed you, keep fighting your cancer. Sending love and best wishes,” a third fan chimed in, referring to her recent divorce.

Just last month, the 52-year-old actress filed for divorce after eleven years of marriage. “Divorce was the last thing Shannen wanted,” Doherty’s rep, Leslie Sloane, told PEOPLE in a statement. “Unfortunately, he felt he had no other choice.”
Sloane also claimed that Iswarienko’s agent was “closely involved” in their divorce, leading to speculation of an infidelity. The couple broke up in January, around the time this video was taken. According to court documents, “irreconcilable differences” were listed as the reason for their split.
Although neither had children, Doherty applied for spousal support and asked that it not be given to him. Just before news broke that the couple would be splitting, the “Bewitched” alum took to Instagram to share a cryptic statement.

Doherty was previously married to Ashley Hamilton from 1993 to 1994 and to Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003. Doherty and Iswarienko tied the knot in October 2011, over ten years ago.
A year before they tied the knot, Doherty told PEOPLE that she doesn’t take her third marriage lightly, explaining, “Marriage for me is such a huge commitment that it’s not something I’m going to take lightly anymore.”

The actress has also been battling stage 4 breast cancer for the past few years. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She went into remission in 2017 but found out she had stage 4 cancer in 2020.
Doherty now says she feels a “responsibility” to dispel misconceptions about cancer during a virtual panel for her Lifetime movie “List of a Lifetime.”
“I feel like I have a responsibility in my more public life, which I separate from my acting life … to talk about cancer and maybe educate people more and let people know that those with stage 4 are very alive and very active, ” he said.
