On a recent episode of the “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum shared that cancer has significantly affected her libido, noting that “s– doesn’t feel as good” as it used to..
“When you don’t feel good about yourself, it kills your libido,” Doherty says.
“But then, when it really affects your libido, when the drugs take your libido away, or they make things not so pleasant, s– doesn’t feel so good,” she added.
Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and had to undergo a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation during that time.
He also underwent brain surgery last year and later revealed that it had spread to other parts of his body.

Doherty also revealed that getting older contributed to his driving loss.
“Perimenopause, menopause, getting older — everything affects more than just your exterior,” she says. “It also affects the whole way your body reacts and reacts, and then you add to that cancer drug, you add to that, chemo, or and it just weakens you from everything.”
“It takes away your confidence,” Doherty added. “It takes away your identity.”
As we previously reported, all hope is not lost for Doherty, as she recently revealed that she had a “miracle” breakthrough in the midst of her cancer treatment.
He stated that he had undergone a “new cancer infusion” but did not “see a difference” after four treatments as people urged him to reconsider. However, she explained that she was unmoved and told her radiation oncologist, Dr. Amin Mirhadi, that they “will go ahead and see.”
“And yes, after the sixth or seventh treatment, we actually see it breaking down the blood-brain barrier,” he said.
“That it actually breaks the blood-brain barrier is actually the miracle of the drug, a miracle of maybe God stepping in and saying, ‘I’m going to give him a break,'” Doherty added. “Sometimes you’re looking for magic in all the wrong places, and it’s right in front of your face.”

Doherty’s friend Anne Marie Kortright recounted how she helped push the “Heathers” actress to work on her sexual well-being, revealing that she took Doherty to an obstetrician/gynecologist named Dr. Sherrie Ross.
“Even though we’re both conservative in our own upbringing and love our background … I think the modeling business is a little bit more open than the way you used to be,” Kortright, 41, said, according to New York Post.
She continued, “Of course, I took Shannen to the OB appointment, and I sat there with her because that’s what I do.”
“He brought me because, you know, I specifically said to him, ‘I have to do something,'” Doherty said. “Things aren’t working, and this is not the life I want to live.”
“I don’t want my husband to live like this either,” added the actress, referring to her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko.
At that time Kortright shared that Dr. Ross gave Doherty a toy to use and stimulate himself.
Kortright shared: “She goes, ‘Here, Shannen, take this,’ and Shannen, like, puts it in her bag. She’s like, ‘You think you can see that?’ and I was like, ‘No one can see it, no one knows it’s there!’ He was like, ‘Are you sure?’”
“I’m beet red,” Doherty admits.

Last year, Doherty revealed that cancer had affected his brain and had spread to his bones, as he opened up about why death doesn’t scare him.
“I don’t want to die,” he said People magazine at that time.
“I thought I’d be scared to death if I wasn’t a good person, but I’m scared,” he said. “I’m not afraid of dying, I just don’t want to die, like, ever.”
Doherty continued, “I’m not done living, I’m not done loving, I’m not done creating, I’m not done, hopefully changing things for the better. I’m not done yet.”
“My greatest memory is yet to come,” added the actress.
