It all started after Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg posted a “Toolkit” document on the American microblogging and social networking service Twitter in support of the ongoing Farmers’ protest on February 3, 2021. Reports indicate that the document was produced by Indian activist Disha Ravi, Shantanu Muluk , and Nikita Jacob to spread discontent and tension against Indian secularism[1]NDTV.

Disha Ravi, the main accused in the infamous Toolkit case, was arrested in February 2021. However, non-bailable warrants were issued against Shantanu and Nikita a few days later for editing and producing Toolkit documents and being in direct contact with pro-Khalistani Elements. However, according to a recent media update, Shantanu Muluk has been granted transit bail by Justice Vibha Kankanwadi of the Bombay High Court for about ten days to enable him to file a defense before a court in Delhi[3]India Today.

Muluk, in his appeal to the Bombay High Court, argued that his intention to assist the Farmer’s objection was Bona Fide. He also said he was helping the real opposition (farmers) to support them in their appeal. He further argued that the case brought against him under section 153-A (promoting enmity between different communities) violated the provision of law in a democratic republic to raise voice against legitimate dissent.
