After Eric’s story went viral, Puma and Under Armor reached out to the family to help. And they are not the only ones who want to help the teenager and his family; Shaq also wants to lend a helping hand.
follow USA Today, Eric was excited to hear from O’Neal last week. He knew exactly who was on the other end of the phone when he answered it.

Reebok sent Eric, who stands at 6’10, five pairs of size 22 shoes they created for Shaq. Even though Eric is currently a size 23, these shoes have more toe room than the Nikes he wears and surpass them. Under Armor scans and measures Eric’s feet, so more options are coming for the teenager. Puma also plans to do the same, so in about two months, Eric will have more shoes than ever that fit him comfortably.
The day after Eric received O’Neal’s phone call, he received a pair of Reebok shoes in the mail. Eric contacted O’Neal to share his gratitude for the kind response to his shoe dilemma. O’Neal’s text message to the teenager left a huge impression on him. “When he and I were texting about shoes, [O’Neal] said, ‘There is more to come, big man. Love you,’” shared Eric. “This is final.”
