In 2006, Sharmila represented India in the Asian Games in Doha.

He has also represented India at the Asia Pacific Junior Golf Championship in San Diego, the Queen Sirikit Cup in Japan and the Malaysian Open. In 2007 and 2008, she became the youngest player to win the All India Women’s Amateur Championship. She also became the youngest Indian woman to qualify for the Women’s European Tour in 2012.
