Sharna Burgess speaks out against the use of face-altering filters on children.
The “Dancing With The Stars” alum and Brian Austin Green welcomed a son, Zane, in 2022, and since then, the mother of one has been doting on her son, showering him with love.
As a mother herself, Burgess was thrilled when she saw a video of a child using a filter that changed her face. Not one to hold back, Burgess took to Instagram to criticize the act.
Sharna Burgess Calls Out Children’s Filter Use
The dancer made a video of herself trying out the filter used on the eight-year-old. The Instagram filter slimmed the pro dancer’s face, changed the color of her eyes, and accentuated her nose.

Accompanying the video, Burgess said, “I just saw someone who had this filter on some of their child’s videos. A beautiful young girl, maybe eight years old.”
Burgess went on to express her annoyance at the act, saying, “Congratulations on giving your son insecurity about his already perfect face. This shit gets me fired up.” He asked his followers to try the filter and notice the changes it made.
The mother-of-one also shared a video of her natural face, which is clearly different from the videos with filters. “For the record, this is my face this morning. No makeup and no filters,” Burgess announced. He zoomed in on the camera a bit to show his skin and then some scratches, which he said were made by Zane.
However, a fan took a swipe at DM Burgess claiming that the TV host doesn’t practice what he preaches as he also uses filters in his videos and pictures. In response to the claim, the 37-year-old made a video explaining the type of filter he uses.
“The only filter I use is one that doesn’t change my face,” says the professional dancer. “There are some people who do a little coloring or a little smoothing, but they don’t change my face at all; make my lips bigger or my nose smaller, my jaw narrower or my eyes bigger. I will never use it.”
The Australian stated that putting such a filter on a child is “appalling.” Before the clip ends, he reiterates that he only uses fine filters.

However, it wasn’t all negative for the Australian, who revealed that he managed to find balance in the chaos. He wrote, “Finding time and balance is a new skill I’m trying to master. I wouldn’t change a single thing, though, I’m obsessed with life and everything.”
