Shashank Shirish Ketkar was born on Sunday, September 15, 1985 (age 37 years; in 2022) in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Once, in a media conversation, Shashank revealed that he was born and brought up in a middle-class family. His family hopes that Shashank will become a highly qualified person.

Soon after completing his school education, Shashank Ketkar traveled to Australia from India to complete his engineering degree. He earned a master’s degree in engineering in Sydney, Australia, where he was also associated with Olympic gold medalist Ian Thorpe’s swimming school. After completing his studies, Shashank Ketkar worked as a duty manager at Ian’s swimming school for some time. Gradually, he got certified in swimming and became a qualified swimmer. In 2012, Shashank Ketkar appeared in the Marathi television series Kalay Tasmay Namah, which aired on ETV Marathi. In this series, he played the role of Kailash (Vikram Gokhale’s grandson). In 2013, Shashank Ketkar rose to fame when he started working in the Zee Marathi television series Honar Sun Me Hya Gharchi in the lead role as Shreerang ‘Shree’ Gokhale. Her performance in the show made her famous. Shashank Ketkar, along with his co-star Janhavi, who played his wife in the show, were honored with the “Best Actor” and “Best Couple” awards in the same year. While in Australia, Shashank Ketkar participated in several cultural activities, Marathi plays, and music programs organized by several Indian groups. When he returned to India after completing his higher education in Australia, he started participating in performing arts regularly as a hobby. Later, Shashank Ketkar joined Sudarshan Rangamanch, a theater group in Pune and started participating in theater plays as an artiste. He gained immense popularity for his performance in the theater play Purnaviram, which was his first act and was directed by Pramod Kale and written by Sachin Kundalkar. In 2014, Shashank Ketkar appeared in the theater drama Goshta Tashi Gamtichi as the son of Mangesh Kadam and Leena Bhagwat.
