Shaun White Teases Possible Engagement: ‘Time Will Tell’

On Thursday, October 27, the five-time retired Olympic snowboarder was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the US Ski and Snowboard Gala. Shaun spoke with E! News at the event, where he revealed that he still has “so much to accomplish in my life,” even though he retired from snowboarding earlier this year.
One of the first things on his post-retirement bucket list was to travel the world with the cast of “The Vampire Diaries.” He said, “After the Olympics, I told him, ‘Let’s do it. Just put it there. I just want to go. I want to go on a trip.'”
That immediately raises the question of whether or not Shaun is ready to propose, but he plays coy with his answer. “Time will tell,” he said before assuring fans that “Things are great with me and Nina, and I’m really excited to focus on our relationship and my relationship with the rest of my friends and family.”

Right now, he only appreciates his company for two attempts to cross more things off his bucket list. “We’ve done a lot,” he revealed. “After the Olympics, there’s always this feeling, even if you win, and I was able to fill that time by doing things with him, traveling around the world, seeing friends and family.”
Their most memorable adventure was traveling to France to visit Nina’s mother. “It was the best,” he revealed. “These are the moments. You can have the glitz and glamor of it all, but real family quality time with people is what I want most—and now I do.”
Shaun White Opens His New Lifestyle Company Whitespace

Although he may be a retired athlete, Shaun has no plans to give up his active lifestyle. Instead, he has founded a lifestyle company called Whitespace which has been actively promoted on social media for the past few weeks.
“After years and years of working with brands, I finally decided at this point in my career…that I really want to do this and now is the time,” he explained. “I can take all the expertise from working with this brand, the knowledge of the snowboard itself and product development, and put it all into my own thing.”

Although he is not actively competing yet, Shaun still hopes that he can make an impact on the world of snowboarding. “We’re talking to some really talented young riders in this space and I’m looking forward to bringing them into this program and really helping their careers,” he continued. “That would be full circle for me.”
Couple’s Close Friend Teases Possible Engagement In The Nearest Time

In February, a close friend of the couple told Page Six that Shaun White would most likely propose to Nina Dobrev shortly after she returned from the Winter Olympics earlier this year. While that didn’t happen, the insider noted that the pair were “really cute” together.
“They are so cute and together,” a friend of the couple told the outlet. “I wouldn’t be surprised if an engagement happened any day now.”
“They share so many interests, they’re both driven, they’re both into self-healing and wellness,” they continued. “They are both very spiritual and motivated. They’ve both worked hard over the years to create their own careers, so now they’ve decided that every free minute they get, they spend with each other.”

Last October, Shaun told PEOPLE that he had a “beautiful relationship” with his girlfriend of two years. “Nina is amazing,” he said. “What an influence in my life.”
“It’s not just that he’s running his own show, his own world, the companies he’s involved with, the things he’s produced, all these things happen,” he continued. “He holds me to the same high standards that it’s wonderful to have in a partner.”
