Although Jeffrey Jr. born with developmental delays that resulted in her special needs, Shepherd never wavered as her mother. The situation only made the former co-host of “The View” even more determined to fight and build the 18-year-old into the man he is today.
So it made it more understandable and more endearing when he took to Instagram to share why he became a bundle of emotions when he sent the teenager to his high school prom. In the photo uploaded by the mother of two, her baby boy stuns in a black suit, blue tie and matching handkerchief, and white shoes.
The images also highlight the behind-the-scenes preparation and effort that Shepherd and her son put into her look, with the star combing Jeffrey Jr.’s hair. while wearing white cargo pants and a pink tank top in one of them. Despite the impressive results in his son’s appearance, what stood out for him was the way Jeffrey Jr. treat her prom date.
Recalling the sweet moment, the “Everybody Loves Raymond” actor wrote under the carousel of snaps, “’Mom, why are you crying? It’s just my prom!’ Watching my son put a corsage on his date’s wrist and help her into the car… wow, I think I’m fine!”

I think it was like last week when he was little. Mother, you have been good to him. I am so proud of you both. Nothing but love.”

Shepherd, who takes every opportunity to praise her son, previously opened up to her 1.1 million followers about giving him more freedom. In addition to clips of Jeffrey Jr. playing basketball in various places, he wrote a long caption that began:
“My life is in LA, but my friend @teejmercer said, ‘Sherri God said New York wasn’t for you but it was for Jeffrey. That is where he will find his independence.’”
The Daytime Emmy-nominated star later admitted it was difficult to let the teenager jump because she wanted to “protect him from everything that could hurt him.” He continued:
“But as he said goodbye to me and walked to the A train to Queens with his friends to see the Mets play, I prayed to the One who created him that as he spread his wings, God would be there to catch him. “

Former ‘Dish Nation’ Host’s Short Jail Yields Big Life Lessons
While many will leave prison feeling worthless, the “Ride Along 2” actor left with valuable lessons that helped him achieve career success. According to The Blast, he served eight days in the early ’90s for owing $10,000 in unpaid parking tickets.
When he spoke about it in March, he stated, “Yes, I went to jail for not paying my ticket. At the time, I didn’t think being in jail was a good moment, but looking back, I learned to pay all my bills. Prison, it’s a classroom. It was a life lesson, and now I pay my bills on time.”
Reflecting on her job, Shepherd recounted that an inmate named Shelby, who acted as her protector, took on the role because she knew the “High Hoops” star “was going to be somebody.” The Chicago native returned the favor by inviting Shelby to two of his weddings – Tarpley in 2001 and Lamar Sally in 2011 – after Shelby’s release.
