Although the police department did not provide additional information about Uzzle’s death, sources indicated that he died of an apparent suicide.

Viewers have already begun to speculate that her death is related to an investigation that began after Debmar-Mercury discovered that several departments associated with “Sherri” were said to be in financial trouble.

It was also revealed that about six months’ rent was in arrears at Chelsea Studios, where the show is being filmed. Sources said to be close to the situation stated that crew members were so worried about the possible cancellation of the show that “Debmar had to step in.”

Reportedly, Uzzle was approached by senior members of the show about the issue, to which he asked for more time to review the paperwork. However, according to Page Sixanother insider claimed that “Sherri” was unaffected and that Debmar-Mercury had continued production of the show.

While representatives for Debmar-Mercury declined to disclose details about Uzzle’s death or any personnel issues, they stated, “We have maintained [law firm] Morgan Lewis to help us investigate the matter and, pending the outcome of that investigation, we will have no further comment.”

As things continue to unfold, it’s worth noting that Uzzle’s death has been largely contained, with only minor news sites covering it. The site describes Uzzle, whose primary responsibility was to manage production and oversee the budget on “Sherri,” as “a respected production manager known for his outstanding contributions to “The Wendy Williams Show” and several other important projects,” without mentioning his work on ” Sherri.”

Even so, “Sherri” paid tribute to the 50-year-old with a memorable segment on the February 15 episode. At the same time, management is said to have enlisted grief counselors to support staff in dealing with the loss.

The last time “Sherri” made headlines, it was for its host, Shepherd, who decided not to join the Writers Guild of America for months [WGA] strike

Instead of halting production of her talk show like her Hollywood counterparts like Drew Barrymore and Bill Maher, Shepherd launched the second season of “Sherri” on Monday, September 18.

During the premiere, he assured viewers that reopening the talk show did not violate the WGA’s strike rules. The comedian noted that several famous Hollywood stars and actors had actively participated in the picket lines during the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

“Well, I’m a SAG-AFTRA actor, and I actually marched with some of my colleagues while in Los Angeles recently. That’s me with Viola Davis, Niecy Nash,” he said while displaying a photo.

Shepherd later revealed that, unlike other shows, he never hired WGA writers because he belonged to a different association; therefore, “returning to work does not cross the picket line.”

The “Less Than Perfect” star explained that talk shows typically operate under a different union contract code, allowing all productions except WGA-affiliated shows to resume airing.

Shepherd emphasized that he writes his own jokes, attributing the comedic headlines viewers see to his creative prowess before adding:

“I stand in solidarity with my union. One of the things we strive for is better waste […] the rest of my idle time keeps the lights on. My balance helped me take care of Jeffrey when he was born at 25 weeks. So a good residual payment is important to actors.”
