She has been interested in beauty pageants since her early teens and became Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016, representing her home province of Carazo. She then appeared in the Top 10 Miss Teen Universe 2017 held in Managua, Nicaragua.

On May 16, 2020, she won the Miss World Nicaragua 2020 crown, representing Nicaragua’s capital, Managua. She is set to represent Nicaragua in the Miss World pageant in 2020 and 2021; however, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the beauty show has been cancelled.

She made it to the Top 40 of the 70th edition of Miss World, held at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 16, 2022, by winning the Fastrack challenge head-to-head, but failed to advance to the Top-13 stage. He was later confirmed positive for COVID-19 as a result of which he was unable to compete at the 2022 Reinado Internacional del Café.

Miss Universe 2023
On November 18, 2023, Sheynnis Palacios won the Miss Universe 2023 pageant, which was held at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. Antonia Porsild of Thailand emerged as the first runner-up, and Moraya Wilson of Australia emerged as the second runner-up.

She became the fifth Nicaraguan woman to reach the semifinals, the first Nicaraguan to win the title, and the second woman from Central America to be crowned Miss Universe after Justine Pasek of Panama in 2002, originally the first runner-up and inheriting the title after the original title holder has been dethroned.

When she was asked who she would choose if she had to spend a year in another woman’s year, and the reason behind it, she chose British author, philosopher, and women’s rights advocate Mary Wollstonecraft and reasoned that Mary paved a new path for women. and said,
He opened [a] gap and give opportunities to many women. What am I going to do, I want that gap [to] open so that women can work in any area they choose to work because there [are] no limits for women. That was 1750. Now in 2023, we are making history.”

He said that he was very happy to win the crown because he represented his country on such a great stage and said,
My skin crawls when I hear backstage when they say Nicaragua, my heart swells and it makes me feel so happy, to represent not only Nicaraguan women, but the whole country.

Sheynnis Palacios has also worked as a television host and presenter of the show ‘Understand Your Mind,’ which deals with mental health and airs on TV Red (Canal 11). He also has an interest in creating content.

He once said that his goal was to become an audio-visual producer and start his own International PR company. He added that he would like to get a postgraduate degree in cinematography and a master’s degree in audiovisual production

Social worker
Sheynnis Palacios has done many social activities to help the poor and underprivileged. After Nicaragua was hit by two hurricanes in November 2020, he started a fundraising project called ‘Uniting Lives’ to help the people affected by the natural disaster by rebuilding the San Bartolo bridge.

He also runs another project called ‘Smiles That Teach’ where he raises funds for children receiving cleft and cleft lip surgery at the Smile Nicaragua Operation Center. Through one of his projects called ‘Beauty With a Purpose,’ he started a veterinary clinic in the La Fuente neighborhood of Managua.

Since she suffered from anxiety growing up, she has helped over 60 women with anxiety related issues through her mental health awareness TV show ‘Understand Your Mind’. He has conducted more than 100 fundraisers for his social assistance projects.
