In 2022, Shikha went through a difficult phase in her life when her husband was admitted to AIIMS hospital for angioplasty after suffering a heart attack. On September 21, 2022, she lost her husband who had been undergoing treatment for 41 days at AIIMS in New Delhi.

He was doing his routine exercise and while he was on the treadmill, he suddenly fell. He suffered a heart attack and was rushed to AIIMS hospital.”
- When Shikha confirmed that Raju was hospitalized and kept on a ventilator, many prominent personalities like Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi came forward to help him and his family. They call Shikha to unite her.
- In an interview, Raju talked about the time he and Shikha participated in the dance show Nach Baliye 6 in 2013. In the interview, he said,
He doesn’t have any problems. He said when he married me, he didn’t know how life would change after that, he took things as they happened to him. He practices hard with the choreographer and seriously the best part about the show is that you get to spend time with your partner which otherwise becomes difficult. That’s an extra reason to perform.”
- Shikha and Raju got married in 1993, but Raju had to wait for twelve years to marry her. He fell in love with Shikha in 1982, when she attended his brother’s wedding in Fatehpur. He doesn’t tell his feelings to Shikha and goes to Mumbai to become a comedian. He works hard there, becomes a famous comedian, and earns a lot of money to impress Shikha’s family. While in Mumbai, he once wrote a letter to Shikha to confirm that he was not married to someone else. Later, he sent a marriage proposal to his family and they went to see his house in Mumbai after which they were impressed by him and they got married.
