Shivin Ganesan was born in 1996 (age 26 years; in 2022) in Devakottai, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Assigned male at birth, Shivin, since childhood, was inclined towards dancing and acting. According to Shivin, after reaching the age of adolescence, his feminine behavior became noticeable. A few years later, he revealed his sexual orientation to his parents; however, since he was the only son in his family, his parents rejected him as transgender and often isolated and physically harassed him. In an interview, he talked about this and said,
I was locked in a room, and my family never allowed me to leave the room; they serve food through a small crack in the door. I was not allowed to meet anyone in my own house, and they beat me several times.”

Shivin, in his 20s, was sent to Singapore by his parents. According to Shivin, he was sent to Singapore for sex change surgery. In an interview, he talked about this and said,
My mother sent me to Singapore because she could not live in India. Why so many people leave India and come to Singapore because of sex donation.”
Shivin holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In one of the episodes of reality show Big Boss Tamil Season 6, Shivin talked about his previous relationship. She said that she dated a man for two years when she used to work as an IT professional in Chennai; however, his mother did not support his relationship and forced him to call it off. According to Shivin, his mother did not want him to fall in love with a man because Shivin is transgender. In an interview, Shivin spoke about this and said,
In my native place, we used to go to temples and temple festivals together. Everyone in my village knows about our relationship, and they adore it. But my mother never approved of it. He forced me to break up with him and said that the boy’s parents might curse me for being in a relationship with him because I am a transwoman. Since my mother forced me to break up with her, I finally did. Now, he has settled in Singapore but I have heard from friends that he has suffered from some addictions. All I want for him is to stop them and find a good partner.”

Modeling
In 2019, Shivin Ganesan started his modeling career by participating in small-scale pageant competitions. In 2021, she won the Miss Trans Star India pageant. In 2022, she will represent India at Miss Trans Star International, held in Spain; however, since his VISA was rejected, he was unable to attend the event. In the same year, she won the title of Miss Equality World India 2022.
