Shocked driver catches bears raiding Krispy Kreme delivery van: ‘They just kept eating’

They cannot resist the temptation.

A mother black bear and her cub were caught on camera helping themselves to some Krispy Kreme donuts during a delivery to a military base in Anchorage, Alaska.

The animal attacked a van at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson after the driver left the door open when he stopped at an Express store, KTUU reported.

“You could hear them breaking open the package,” store manager Shelly Deano told the store. “We tried to hit the van but they kept eating all the donuts.

“They ate 20 packs of donut holes and I believe six packs of triple chocolate donuts,” he added.

Deano took some pictures of the raid.

“I said, ‘He’s in the van!’ and then the little boy followed and got into the van and they just started eating doughnuts,” he said, adding that he called base security, who sounded the siren to rebuke the bear.

Candice Sargeant, general manager of the local Krispy Kreme, said she was shocked to learn about the brazen bear bandits.

“There’s no way a bear is in the back of a van. You’d think donuts and bears, and then I’m like, ‘OK, how do we solve this?’” he told the station.

Sargeant said his team had learned a lesson from the incident.

“We’ll definitely learn to slide up our ramp, close the door, to make sure the bear doesn’t come back there again,” he told KTUU with a laugh.
