Shocking footage from Tel Aviv shows the moment two men walking down the street during an emergency alert were almost hit by large fragments of a falling rocket intercepted by the Israel Defense Forces.
The video shows the two casually walking along the sidewalk Tuesday following a warning from the IDF for everyone to stay indoors as Israel’s Iron Dome defense system was activated.
As the man approaches a tree, a large piece of rocket falls vertically right in front of the pedestrian, who quickly jumps back in fear.
Branches from the tree continued to fall as one of the men ran away, with the others choosing to walk away slowly as they looked at the damage caused by the rocket.
The incident occurred during a red alert siren call, when residents were ordered to evacuate the area due to missile fire launched in the Jewish state, the Times of Israel reported.
Civilians were also told to stay indoors for up to 10 minutes after the siren went off, as it took several minutes for a rocket neutralized by the Iron Dome to land after it was detonated in the air.

Residents typically have about 90 seconds to get to sheltered areas in Tel Aviv in the event of a rocket fire warning, according to the Times.
The rocket that landed in front of the two men was part of an estimated 15 missiles aimed at Tel Aviv on Tuesday, according to Israeli channel Ynet.
A piece of one of the intercepted rockets ended up landing in a school in the city, with the debris crashing into a classroom and scattering debris everywhere.

No injuries were reported, with the incident coming days after restrictions were lifted in Tel Aviv allowing schools to reopen with some safety measures in place.
Tuesday’s attack on Tel Aviv was one of many recent rocket attacks aimed at the Jewish state after the Israel-Hamas war saw some of the fiercest fighting across Gaza.
