Shocking video shows pregnant woman attacked by pit bull in front of her kids

Dramatic video captures the moment an eight-month pregnant Dallas woman was attacked by a pit bull in front of her two terrified young children.

Reyna Gutierrez and her children arrived home at the Tides at Highland Meadows apartment complex on Amanda Lane about 3:30 Tuesday afternoon when the dog pounced on her, WFAA reported.

“I couldn’t do anything,” he told the outlet in Spanish after being startled by the animal. “I tried to cover myself with my son’s backpack.”

Surveillance footage from the family’s home showed the dog attacking Gutierrez while her 6-year-old daughter jumped on the hood of the car and her 9-year-old son ran toward the house.

A good Samaritan ran to help but the dog attacked him too.

The video then shows a man who appears to be the owner of the pit bull putting it on a leash.

Gutierrez told WFAA on Wednesday that he is still afraid to venture outside after the horrific attack.

“If it’s not me, what if it’s one of those kids? I can’t bear to watch that video. I felt scared,” he said, adding that the man who ran to help him suffered a stomach injury.

Dallas Animal Services employees were at the complex Wednesday and knocked on several doors to find the dog’s owner, according to the store.

Neighbors said the owner lives in the area but they don’t know who he is.

No arrests have been made amid the ongoing investigation.

“I just want people to be held accountable,” Gutierrez told WFAA. “How can you take your dog out without a leash knowing it is aggressive?”
