Shocking video shows tech CEO plunge to death during grand on-stage entrance at company party

A day of celebration quickly turned into a horror show when a tech CEO plunged 15 feet to his death in an on-stage accident in front of terrified workers in India.

Vistex CEO Sanjay Shah and Vistex President Vishwanath Raju Datla were inside a metal cage being lowered onto the stage as part of their grand entrance to the company party when the wires snapped, the Times of India reported.

Shocking video shows the moment a yellow cage hovering near the rafters begins to sway as fireworks explode and a voice asks people to “put hands together” for the couple.

The cage then quickly fell to one side, sending the two heads of the Illinois-based company sliding 15 feet to the ground – about a one-story drop.

One of the men actually flipped over, landing with his head on the ground, the video showed.

Shah was killed in the accident. Datla was left in critical condition.

Although the cause is attributed to a broken wire, officials are investigating the incident and the damaged cage, which is pulled by a winding machine and has iron wire and a grill.

Shah and Datla were in India to celebrate their Vistex Asia silver jubilee, which was celebrated over two days at the famous Ramoji Film City.

“Shah and Raju being lowered from the cage onto the dais is a planned event to kick off the celebrations,” a company official told the outlet.

Vistex, founded by Shah in 1999, is a consulting company with more than 20 global offices and an extensive client list that includes GM, Yamaha, Coca-Cola and more.

He went on to donate $5 million to establish the Vistex Institute for Executive Education at the school in 2017.

Shah is a philanthropist who also founded the Vistex Foundation, which provides grants to nonprofits focused on health, education and basic needs programming.

In 2020, he opened the Vistex Hospital in Bihar, India, which is recognized as a national model COVID-19 facility.
