Four people were injured after a gunman opened fire at a Dayton, Ohio, Walmart before killing himself Monday night, authorities said.
The suspected shooter entered the Walmart in Beavercreek at about 8:30 p.m. and began shooting at those inside the store, according to Beavercreek Police Department.
Authorities said four victims were taken to area hospitals, and their conditions are unknown.
The shooter died of an “apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” according to the department.
“No shots were fired by any of the responding police officers,” the department wrote in a statement on X.
The building is cleared and secured, and “there is no active threat.”

Police said the shooter was a man but did not release his identity as they continue to investigate.
More details are expected to be released on Tuesday.
“I thought it was glass at first. I heard some people running and screaming so I kept running outside and we got to the Burger King parking lot,” an unidentified Walmart employee told the Dayton Daily News.
Walmart said they are “heartbroken” by what happened at their Beavercreek location.

“This remains an evolving situation, and we are working closely with investigators on the scene,” Walmart corporate said in a statement to the outlet.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the FBI are assisting in the investigation, the department said.
Beavercreek is a town of about 46,000 people about 9 miles east of Dayton.
